Google Tag Manager Installation

Google Tag Manager is a free tool that makes it easy to add and update website tags.  Website tags such as conversion tracking, site analytics, re-marketing, and more.  This can all be done with just a few clicks, and without needing to edit your website code. Check out this video about Google Tag Manager on setting up your account.

To add Crazy Egg as a new tag in Google Tag Manager, simply;

  1. Login into your Google Tag Manager account.
  2. Click on Tags along the left hand side menu.
  3. Click on New.
  4. Choose Crazy Egg.
  5. Enter your Crazy Egg account number.
  6. Click on Continue
  7. Choose All Pages under Fire On
  8. Click Create Tag

You can find your Crazy Egg Account number at the top of the Instructions page.

The account number is made up of 8 digits and can also be found in the tracking script itself. Below is an example tracking script, the bold and italicized numbers is the account number. In this example the account number is 00000000.
