Blocking IP Addresses

Do you have a great number of visitors from your own company visiting your webpages?  Are you interested in excluding this traffic from the tracking to see what your guest visitors are truly doing on your site?  Than Blocking IP Addresses is for you.

Only Team Members with permission of " Owner Access" will be able to block IP addresses.

Currently, only IPv4 is supported.

Options for entering IP addresses

Note: Currently only IPv4 is supported.

For Single IP Address, you will want to enter the individual IP addresses you’d like excluded. This is the most commonly used method of entering IP addresses.

For Wildcard IP Address, you can exclude a range.  This option is helpful if your IP addresses have some type of pattern but are not in consecutive order. You can enter the IP address and replace the section of the IP address that changes with an asterisk (*).

Example: 127.0.*.1

Range IP Address

Using the range option makes excluding a large set of IP addresses that are in consecutive order easy. This saves you the trouble of entering each IP address or adding multiple wildcard IP addresses.

Example: 127.0.0.1-127.0.1.1

Creating a Standard Snapshot - Step by Step

Here is a recommended process to help you get started.

1

Go to  Options in the left navigation.

2

Add the IP addresses that you want to block to the list.

If you only need to block your own traffic, navigate to the section that says  Add my current IP address and click on  Add.

3

Click on  Update Settings.

That’s it, you have now successfully blocked IP addresses from your reporting data so that you get the most accurate results possible.
